
Barbara Snyder
Barbara is the retired RN Director of Quality, Risk and Compliance at Southern Coos Hospital in Bandon Oregon. Before moving to Bandon, Barbara was the Campus Director at the University of Phoenix Headquarters in Arizona where she was charged with ensuring the success of students and faculty, facilities and operations, technology, and innovations. The campus was home to students pursuing the LPN-RN pathway, as well as the MSN Family Nurse Practitioner pathway. Previously, Barbara led departments at Arizona State University, was the Executive Director of a nonprofit that conducted statistical forecasting, and was a technical assistance provider nationally for childrens' mental health for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services). Her non-profit work titled, Sustaining Systems, earned the designation “Best Practice in Collaboration” from the American Institutes for Research. In 2012, Barbara earned an academic fellowship in Transdisciplinary Training in Health Disparity Science from the National Institute of Health, and simultaneously was a Hartford Scholar for Geriatric Nursing Excellence. More recently, she was a founding board member for Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor’s non-profit (The O’Connor Institute), a City of Phoenix Art Commissioner, City of Phoenix Planning Committee Member, and Honorary Commander at Luke Air Force Base. Barbara is a registered nurse in Oregon, and owns a mixed use residential, commercial, and industrial space in downtown Coquille, Oregon.
